Impact Wedding Summit

I just got back from the first ever Impact Wedding Summit last night! What a ride it has been. Here is a quick recap of my thoughts on this event (held in sunny and beautiful Orlando Florida at the Lowes Sapphire Resort).

This retreat is a Vacation meets education. It was surreal to be watching my friends take the stage and share their perspective and experience, and to be sitting beside and building friendships with those individuals that have been inspirational to me over my years in the wedding industry. One of my favorite moments was watching the room open with vulnerability, some fears and maybe even a little self doubt, but also with plenty of determination, passion and integrity for the wedding industry as a whole and a genuine love for the couples we all serve.

I think one of the greatest parts of attending IWS was the networking opportunities and friendships made with professional vendors in the wedding industry from all over the country. We all have a unique set of values, strengths and perspectives and sharing them with each other makes our industry stronger. We were given plenty of time to build connections with both the speakers and the attendees, and there was surprise and delight abundant at the closing party (MONEY THEMED HELLOOOO). I even got to connect with a few of my OWN mastermind members, which is always such an incredible treat.

For future attendees, I would recommend keeping an open mind and a pretty clear calendar following the trip so that you can actively follow up, become friends on social media, plan get togethers, and continue the conversations you’ve had with others while there. Take time to get to know people that you have not had the change to engage with yet.

My sweet friends, Everyone you meet has the ability to teach you something. You never know what doors may open to you with an open heart and and open mind! Keep learning, keep growing, keep connecting and keep thriving. See you next year at Impact.
