The majority of the time, I find myself photographing big, crowded weddings, and generally speaking I feel right at home in that space. Is it because I am the oldest of so many children, or have a big family in and am used to larger gatherings? Is it because I always went to bigger schools or love festivals and events? Who knows… but for this wedding, I found myself with the opportunity to photograph a wedding that was a bit different.
On a mild morning in February, Devin and James married each other in a small, intimate ceremony. A small group of friends and family gathered to witness the two of them become a family of their own, and I was lucky enough to be there to photograph it all. They made keeping things small a top priority, and because of that hey were able to ensure that they could both have meaningful time with each of their guests. I loved watching them, the newly wed couple, bask in adoration for each other while being able to move about the space with ease, and receive kind words from the people closest to them.
Bravo to Maggie of Weekend Wedding Warrior and her team for coordination on this lovely wedding, and to all the vendors that put their gifts into motion.
