Dipping my toes into the wedding industry for the first time was not as a photographer, but as a florist. When I first started working in weddings I looked around town to see who was doing what in my field, and the name Jaclyn Journey kept on popping up over and over again. A true talent, she is one of the most sought after floral designers in the region and my admiration for her work began there.
Fast forward several years, and I have moved my work into wedding photography. Imagine my excitement when I was on the photo team for one of her weddings! This gorgeous, July fete took place at Ashbourne Farms and I couldn’t wait to see what was awaiting my camera that day.
The colors incorporated for this wedding were warm, vibrant, natural, feminine and lush. So much thought and attention was taken in elements placed around the venue.
On this warm Kentucky day, guests arrived at Ashbourne Farms, were handed a cocktail and took a seat under the ceremony tent overlooking gently rolling Kentucky Hills. The bride and groom said their vows in the ‘ceremony garden’ (a photographer’s dream), an installation of colors and blooms inspired by the bride’s work as an artist.
