Top 5 reasons to Hire a Photographer for your Proposal

My friends, there are moments in life that should be relished forever, and I am a strong believer that your proposal is one of them. Whether your proposal is an elaborate affair that you’ve been planning out for months, or you recently decided you’re ready to pop the question, there are a myriad of reasons considering hiring a photographer to capture this moment is a fantastic idea. Read on for my top five reasons why I think hiring a photographer for your proposal (and engagement) is the way to go.

Your Partner will Thank you for it.

Even if your partner isn’t the type of person that normally seeks out the limelight, your proposal is a moment in your life that will will pass in the blink of an eye, and will be a memory that you both will want to look back on years from now. Having a photographer on site to take photos of your soon-to-be fiancee’s reaction, the ring (if any) of the little moments in between is a beautiful way to show you put thought and care into planning a moment the two of you will share for the rest of your lives together.

Pro tip: find a find a sneaky way to get your partner dressed up for the occasion (and maybe even a manicure!). Trust me, the extra effort in planning is worth event for the simplest proposals.

Proposal Photos Are Perfect for Announcements

What better way to share with your friends and family that you are newly engaged than High-Quality images that capture the very moment you said ‘yes’ to spending your life together? Especially if your proposal is going to be an intimate moment with just the two of you, photographs of your proposal is the perfect way to announce it to all of your nearest and dearest! You can use these photos for everything from engagement announcements, engagement party invitations, save-the-dates and even your wedding website!

It is an Opportunity to Vet an Important Vendor

Your photographer is such an intimate and important part of your wedding day, and making sure that your are comfortable with them is so essential. I highly recommend having a session with your photographer prior to your wedding day, why not start with the proposal?

Your Proposal is a Part of Your Story Together

I know its cliche, but a picture is worth a thousand words. With so many memories over your life together, it will mean that much more when you have something tangible (like prints!! Please consider printing your photographs!) to hold onto and remember all the pieces of your story over for years to come. These photographs are a part of your legacy.

There is no Replacement for Professional Quality

Everyone has an uncle, a friend, a second cousin with a camera, but there is nothing that can compare to the imagery a seasoned professional can give to you, especially for a moment that hold so much significance. Planning for a pro means you will have someone there dedicated to your moment, not how it pertains to them. You will ideally have someone there with a heart to serve you and the experience to produce timeless images that will flatter you both and serve as a reminder of your love.
